Partnership with ITGLOBAL. СOM DMCC
We, ITGLOBAL. COM DMCC, are the official distributor of the vStack hyperconverged virtualization platform in the MENA region and are currently actively expanding our network of integration partners.
It is widely known that VMware is one of the largest developers of virtualization solutions for business infrastructure. However, many market players in the Middle East today are ready to consider an equivalent alternative to VMware. vStack is such an alternative.
The core idea of the vStack platform is to build a fully managed enterprise-level virtual data center based on standard server hardware. It is a more affordable, yet no less powerful replacement for VMware, which outperforms corporate storage and virtualization solutions in a number of tasks.
With the vStack hyperconverged platform, we provide local integrators access to advanced technologies, training, and technical support, which enhances their qualifications and competitiveness. This also opens up new opportunities for expanding their customer base and participating in innovative projects, further strengthening their market reputation.
In this article, we will tell you more about vStack.
Creation of vStack
The history of the vStack platform began in 2018 when ITGLOBAL.COM set its sights on expanding its geographical reach and launched its entry into the cloud markets of Europe, the USA, Central and South America. To conquer such highly competitive markets, it was necessary to create a unique competitive solution, which became the vStack platform.
One of the initial major clients for this solution was the international cloud provider Serverspace. The unique technologies that formed the basis of vStack helped Serverspace take first place in VM performance on the US market according to the Geekbench test.
vStack is a proprietary operating system (OS) for x86 assemblers, created by using the best features available in FreeBSD. Over the last three years, the solution’s popularity has steadily grown. vStack developers continue to work on improving the product to meet emerging market requirements and satisfy special client requests. vStack is a fully functioning commercial product that can be an excellent solution for corporate IT of any size.
vStack as a Hyperconverged Platform
Before discussing Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), it is important to explain what converged or classical infrastructure (CI) is. The latter includes a compute cluster, a data storage cluster, and a network cluster. In converged infrastructure, there are several devices with dedicated roles, such as data storage, computing, networking, etc.
The key difference between solutions like vStack and classical ones is the presence of software-defined IT infrastructure. In hyperconverged infrastructure, all three segments are unified within a cluster of standardized server nodes. Each server in the infrastructure performs the functions of computing, networking, and storage.
Benefits of vStack
All the benefits of vStack can be roughly divided into three main categories. This will allow us to view the advantages of the solution from different perspectives.
Benefits for Business
- Cost reduction on hardware due to savings on the reservation of individual systems. vStack can be installed on server hardware or ordered as a software-hardware complex (SHC).
- Savings on salaries. By using vStack, companies can save by reducing personnel costs since only one certified administrator is needed to service the platform. With vStack, companies do not need to look for specialists for separate components of the infrastructure, such as storage systems (SDS).
- Vendor independence. With vStack, companies can minimize risks and ensure business continuity. vStack is available via subscription or with a perpetual license and annual support.
Benefits for IT
- Easy maintenance. A unified management console and support window were developed for managing vStack. IT departments find it much easier to work without dealing with different support teams for different hardware.
- Rapid scalability and recovery. This is possible because all vStack components are software-defined.
- High cluster performance. The solution outperforms competitors due to one of the key performance indicators-virtualization overhead (CPU overhead). Overhead is the reduction in performance of a virtualized server compared to a physical server. The average accepted CPU overhead is 10-15%, while vStack’s is only 2-5%.
- Reduced data center resource consumption. Under similar conditions, hyperconverged infrastructure is 70% more efficient in terms of units, cooling, and power consumption compared to converged infrastructure.

Without virtualization technology, which appeared in 2006, it is now impossible to imagine effective corporate IT. Virtualization will be the next technology to impact IT.
vStack Advantages over VMware
When discussing VMware, we typically refer to the vSphere product. This is the world’s number one virtualization solution, outpacing all competitors by a significant margin.
However, virtualization itself is a Computing segment technology, meaning it makes up only a third of a hyperconverged solution. Therefore, to implement SDN (Software-defined Networking), VMware’s NSX-T Datacenter product is required. This is currently licensed separately. For implementing SDS (Software-defined Storage), the VMware vSAN license is required.
Thus, the vStack platform is fundamentally a more comprehensive solution than VMware’s products.
