RISCY: Redefining System-on-Chip Design with RISC-V Architecture

High-performance SoCs for AI, IoT, and industrial innovation

RISCY is a pioneering semiconductor startup developing a new generation of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions based on the open RISC-V architecture.
The company focuses on high-performance, energy-efficient, and scalable processors designed for a wide range of applications — from IoT and robotics to AI, industrial automation, and data processing.

RISCY’s mission is to create independent, locally designed alternatives to popular SoC platforms such as ESP32, NVIDIA Jetson, and StarFive VisionFive 2 — combining engineering excellence with open innovation.

RISCY’s Processor Portfolio

RISCY develops a family of multicore RISC-V–based processors, from compact energy-efficient chips for embedded systems to high-performance solutions powering AI-driven and enterprise-grade computing platforms.

Each RISCY processor is supported by:

  • Comprehensive technical documentation
  • A robust and reliable Software Development Kit (SDK)
  • Developer tools enabling seamless integration into existing or new projects

    Applications include:
Edge AI devices (IoT, automation, robotics, UAV controllers), smartphones, smart TVs, Wi-Fi routers, flash disk controllers, etc.

The first chip in the family, RISCY-ONE, is being developed using a 28 nm process and contains four 64-bit cores with support for RVV 1.0 vector extensions. Its production is scheduled for 2027. A lightweight version, RISCY-ONE-MINI, will be manufactured in 2026 and become the first proof of RISCY architecture concept in silicon.

    The Power of RISC-V

    Openness

RISC-V is an open-source Instruction Set Architecture (ISA), enabling collaboration among engineers and researchers worldwide. Its transparent, community-driven model fuels rapid innovation and independence from proprietary ecosystems.

    Flexibility

Its modular design allows customization of extensions and performance parameters, making it ideal for applications ranging from low-power IoT devices to high-throughput data systems.

    Cost-Effectiveness

As an open standard, RISC-V removes licensing barriers, making chip design more accessible to startups, enterprises, and research centers.

    Future-Proofing

The RISC-V community evolves through open collaboration — continuously introducing new standards and extensions to meet the needs of AI, cloud, and edge computing.

    Technical Advantages of RISCY SoCs

RISCY’s SoCs combine advanced hardware design with the openness of RISC-V to achieve superior flexibility, reliability, and scalability.

    Key features:

    • 64-bit architecture with multicore scalability
    • Hardware acceleration for neural network computation
    • Enhanced video stream processing (CSI2-compliant subsystem)
    • Full Linux OS support
    • Wide operational temperature range (-40°C to +125°C)
    • Full independence from proprietary IP

In addition to the SoC itself, the RISCY team is creating an SDK — a software platform that includes drivers, libraries, and tools for optimizing neural networks for RISC-V. This approach ensures full compatibility with popular AI frameworks, such as YOLO, and enables the use of RISCY processors for computer vision, autonomous navigation, and robot control.

The combination of the hardware and SDK transforms RISCY into a universal platform for AI edge devices, industrial IoT systems, robotics, and computer vision applications.

Innovative IP Blocks for Advanced SoCs

One of RISCY’s advantages is its in-house library of IP, including:

      • MIPI CSI-2 video stream reception subsystem
      • HEVC hardware codec
      • DisplayPort subsystem
      • Ethernet MAC, UART, I²C, SPI, and SDIO controllers
      • Reference frequency generators and synthesizers (FLL, RCG)

RISCY’s IPs not only ensures a high degree of development localization but also allows for the SoC architecture adjustment to specific customer requirements.

        Benefits of RISCY

        • Open Architecture: RISC-V–based design ensuring flexibility and transparency
        • Expertise: Engineering team with backgrounds at Intel, NXP, and Cadence
        • Quality Assurance: Rigorous multi-stage testing for performance stability
        • Developer Support: SDKs, integration tools, and prototyping assistance for fast deployment
